Overview

Glow Menu was a WordPress and WooCommerce storefront for customizable glow-in-the-dark printed menus. Customers could browse menu designs, personalize products, save favorites, and complete an online purchase.

The implementation combined a custom Glow Menu theme with product-design tooling, Stripe checkout, shipping and order tracking, abandoned-cart recovery, email marketing, search, SEO, and customer-support integrations.

High Level Goals

  1. Let customers personalize printed menu designs online

  2. Build a complete product browsing and checkout experience

  3. Support fulfillment, retention, and customer-service workflows

Product Challenge

The product needed to communicate a visually unusual physical format online while still giving customers the familiar structure of an e-commerce purchase flow.

Customization

The storefront integrated product-design tooling so buyers could move beyond fixed templates and create a menu suited to their venue or occasion.

Commerce Operations

WooCommerce extensions supported payment, wishlists, shipping, tracking, abandoned-cart recovery, email marketing, analytics, and customer communication around the core product.

Glow Menu Identity

The current Glow Menu website frames expressive hospitality artwork with warm white surfaces and graphite controls. Yellow accents punctuate section labels and links, while deep navy anchors the closing call to action.

The Arimo-led sans-serif system keeps headings and product information simple, giving the printed menus room to carry each venue's visual personality.

The Outcome

Glow Menu became a working commerce system rather than only a visual concept. It connected custom product artwork, WordPress publishing, WooCommerce purchasing, Stripe payments, fulfillment support, and retention tooling in one branded storefront.

Key Learnings

The concept highlighted how expressive branding and functional information design can reinforce one another.
Platform Customization
A custom theme and focused extensions can turn WordPress into a specialized commerce product rather than a conventional content site.
End-to-End Commerce
A viable storefront extends beyond product pages into payments, fulfillment, retention, analytics, and customer support.
Product Personalization
Customization adds meaningful value when the editing experience remains connected to a clear and familiar purchase flow.
